The UAE’s food and beverage exports surged by a notable 19% in the first half of 2024, further solidifying the industry’s upward momentum.

In commemoration of Global Food Week 2024, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce released a groundbreaking report showcasing pivotal discoveries underscoring the industry’s substantial progress, in tandem with a prestigious international conference that brought together esteemed experts from academia and the global food community to catalyze cutting-edge innovation. The prestigious event, under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Chairman of the Presidential Court, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, will conclude on Thursday, November 28th, at the iconic Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry is instrumental in driving the UAE’s 2051 Food Security Strategy, acting as a catalyst for innovation and entrepreneurship within the emirate. By positioning itself as a premier global hub, it attracts visionary entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and investors. Companies poised for swift international growth can capitalize on this chance to pioneer cutting-edge approaches marrying environmentally conscious initiatives with lucrative forays into emerging economies, driving enduring prosperity.

By 2025, market projections predict a substantial escalation in e-commerce transactions within the Abu Dhabi food and beverage sector, anticipated to reach an astonishing USD 619 million (AED 2.3 billion). Consumer spending on food and beverages is expected to experience a significant 6.3% increase in 2024, reinforcing the sector’s impressive resilience.

From January to October 2023, the food industry’s sustained popularity drove substantial growth, as 2,540 new member companies from 178 distinct categories flocked to join ADCCI, representing approximately 8.2% of its total membership.

As Shamis Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Second Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ADCCI), stressed, “By participating in Global Food Week, we aim to further solidify Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a world-class investment destination for the food and beverage industry.” By fostering a thriving local business ecosystem, we enable national and international companies to flourish and grow their global presence.

At the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition 2024, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry will be showcasing a selection of seven local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within its designated pavilion. The program enables entrepreneurial companies to showcase their pioneering products, highlighting the Chamber’s commitment to nurturing local ingenuity and driving its global impact.

Participating companies include Crystallize Sweet (specializing in desserts and confectionery), East Gate Bakery Equipment Factory (manufacturing bakery equipment), Chip n Dough (cookies and sweets), Guernsey Dairy (milk production), Caic Ice Cream, A Cookie Project (cookies), and Mira & FBMI.
