Airbus Helicopters Thailand and ATE sign academic cooperation

The Memorandum of Understanding was officially signed on November 11th by Alexandre Sanchez, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters in Thailand, and Colonel Wanchai Prasanseang, Manager of Aeronautical Technical Engineering (ATE), at a ceremony held at the school located in Nonthaburi.

In accordance with the agreement, Airbus Helicopters in Thailand provides selected students with comprehensive internships that seamlessly integrate theoretical and hands-on training, ultimately enhancing their academic experience and professionally preparing each participant for roles as aircraft mechanics. This initiative aligns seamlessly with the government’s education policies, specifically aimed at cultivating a robust talent pipeline for the prominent European aircraft manufacturer.

The internship program aims to enhance students’ proficiency in English by incorporating online and on-site initiatives that facilitate the sharing of knowledge, driving continuous growth, and cultivating expertise in curriculum management.

Furthermore, ATE educators will actively participate in our curriculum improvement program, fostering opportunities for professional growth and enhancement of their teaching skills.

Since the 1980s, Airbus Helicopters has been an integral component of Thailand’s aviation sector, with a significant milestone marked by the division of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation’s inaugural order of the AS350 in the early years, primarily driven by demands for energy exploration and aerial surveillance capabilities. Over the years, Airbus helicopters have become a crucial part of various military and para-public organizations in Thailand, with over 70 helicopters operating successfully across the United States. Besides its significant presence in the country, Airbus helicopters have a substantial impact in Thailand through their regional helicopter maintenance, repair, overhaul, and modification (MRO) facility, strategically located in Bangkok to cater to the needs of local customers.

The Royal Thai Army’s military programmes feature a range of helicopter assets, including a fleet of H125M models dedicated to Armed Reconnaissance missions, as well as H145/Lakota helicopters utilized for Light Utility Operations. The Royal Thai Air Force operates a fleet of H225M helicopters for Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) and search-and-rescue missions, as well as H135 light-twin helicopters for Advanced Pilot Training programs. The Royal Thai Navy utilizes the H145M armed forces variant for transport and maritime support missions, whereas the Royal Thai military employs the multi-mission H155 helicopter.

“This partnership with the Thai Army Transportation Engineering School exemplifies our commitment to providing experiential, practical training that empowers students with the essential skills required for successful careers in aviation mechanics.” “We’re thrilled to back the growth of exceptional individuals and enthusiastically endorse the thriving aviation sector in Thailand,” Alexandre Sanchez declared.
