Etihad Airways celebrates launch of direct flights to Bali

The inaugural flight, EY476, was marked with a ceremony at Zayed Airport’s terminal on Tuesday evening prior to departure. Upon landing in Denpasar, the aircraft was greeted with a traditional water cannon salute, as Etihad’s captains proudly waved both the United Arab Emirates and Indonesian flags from their seats to commemorate the inaugural non-stop flight.

The innovative new service operates four times weekly, leveraging the cutting-edge Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to deliver unparalleled comfort with Etihad’s renowned Business Studios and Economy Smart seating configurations. With 28 seats operating and 262 economy-class chairs featuring Etihad’s innovative E-Box entertainment system, in-seat power outlets, and high-speed internet connectivity, travelers can anticipate a comfortable and rejuvenating journey, further enhanced by the airline’s renowned service and exceptional hospitality.

“A milestone moment for us! I’m truly honored to be warmly welcomed onto the island today as we embark on our inaugural journey to Bali, and I’m thrilled to lead the way in carrying out the entire trip,” said Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Income and Commercial Officer.

As we continue to expand our portfolio of international destinations, we’re thrilled to introduce Bali as a new addition to our directory, accessible directly from Abu Dhabi. As our second port of call in Indonesia, we arrive at the nation’s capital, Jakarta. We expect to facilitate connections between our international guests from the Middle East, Europe, and beyond through a unique experience in Indonesia’s lush tropical environment.

Bali, a tropical paradise, offers a trifecta of attractions: thrilling adventures for the bold, vibrant social scenes for the sociable, and profound cultural experiences that foster harmony and serenity.

For an unforgettable escape, guests can opt for a thrilling adventure on the stunning coastlines, indulging in a surfer’s paradise or venture inland to discover the picturesque rice terraces and lush emerald landscapes surrounding Ubud’s vibrant cultural hub.

Guests booking flights to Bali on etihad.com have the option to upgrade their travel experience by adding a complimentary hotel stay in Abu Dhabi through Etihad’s Abu Dhabi Stopover program, ideal for travelers seeking a convenient and relaxing stopover en route to their Indonesian destination. Visitors revel in the indulgences of Abu Dhabi, savoring the enchantment of its shores and arid landscapes alongside vibrant social scenes and world-class culinary experiences.

Recently, Etihad introduced new flights to Al Qassim in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as seasonal routes to Antalya, Málaga, Mykonos, and Santorini, with regular services to Jaipur in India.
